We accept assignment of benefits. This is with the assumption that you have a PPO dental insurance and not a DMO, the dental version of an HMO where you are assigned a dentist and must go to him/her.
The longer answer is that with a PPO, you have the power to choose any dentist you want to go to. If you come to Go Dental, you may have a little more out-of-pocket cost because the fee schedule that the insurance company uses and our fees may be different. We believe in taking the time to educate all of our patients, providing the value and quality of dentistry you expect, and to get to know your needs and wants versus feeling controlled by what the insurance company dictates. Please understand a few more things:
1) The maximum benefit 30-40 years ago for dental insurance was $1000. Today, its still very common to see maximum benefits of $1500 and less, yet prices for dentistry have gone up dramatically over the last 30 years.
2) Medical insurance starts just when you need it most. Dental insurance stops just when you need it most.
3) The providers who are on your list did not go through any special screening process but signed an application to say they will be a preferred provider on your list and cut their fees to do so. If one is to reduce their fee, the only way to make up the revenue is to see more people in less time, not getting the personal attention one hopes to get when it come to their health. What does this all mean? In my opinion, for medicine, the costs of stepping into an emergency room is so astronomically high that it makes great sense to go to someone in-network to control what can be an obscene cost. For example, it would have been nearly $15,000 for childbirth in 2008 if my family had no medical insurance. For dentistry, the insurance benefit is so little (and check how much those dental premiums are costing you versus the benefit you receive) that finding a dentist that you respect and trust should be your top priority, not in-network versus out-of-network.
We hope that you find Go Dental the office you will come to trust for your dental needs.
